Australia Day
Generally speaking i don't celebrate Australia day , be that due to my lack of patriotism or my mixed feelings about the day itself i.e A day which is commonly referred to as Invasion Day by Indigenous Australians. Despite these factors i do love Australia and i think that its a good thing to celebrate that it has some of my favourite things .... So here are my top 3 Australian things .
Lemon Myrtle Tree
Lemon Myrtle is a native Australian tree which smells amazing and can be used in so many different forms - tea , beauty products , cooking and so on. When Lozzy and i were staying in Byron bay at a lovely place called Amber Gardens she was struck down with a very nasty flu. Kindly our hosts crunched up some lemon myrtle leaves and made her a tea. It was delicious! If i was to have a garden i would love to have this tree.
Biome
Biome is an Aussie online shop which stocks eco friendly products including anything from pet beauty shampoo to a clock made from a recycled coffee cup! This is a one stop shop when you have minimal time to buy gifts .
Some of my fav things include the amazing Keep Cup - saves the need of using a new cup every time you go out for coffee as it fits in most industrial coffee machines.
They also have a little blog called accidental greenie . Check it out!
Vegemite
I couldn't go past this one , although very much an expected contender. Vegemite has had a big year with its spin off product formally known as isnack 2.0 - Later called cheesy mite or something , i can't even remember!
Anyway i don't even care because i am happy to keep it simple and stick to the original. Ew , cheese and vegemite in a spread , i just can't see how it can work , almost as bad a that new product called canned chicken which is now being marketed .....blahhhhhhhhhhhh. why.
